What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving Day? No matter what we may be going through, if you dig deep enough you will find there is always something to be thankful for. But being thankful isn’t an obligation or a duty, it is need. We need a spirit of thankfulness just as we need a spirit of forgiveness. Thankfulness conditions our hearts to receive the blessings that God gives us. It opens the door for a two-way conversation with Him and builds it into a true relationship.
When we are thankful before God for life’s blessings we show Him that our hearts are worthy to receive more. When we are thankful before others we show them what a loving God can do. So what are you thankful for this day? Have you thanked God, and have yet let others see that spirit of thankfulness that points toward Him?
“I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.”
– Psalm 9:1 (NIV)
